CONCRETE PAVEMENT DEMOLITION

Stomper Demolition Co., Inc.  has a large variety of equipment to meet your pavement demolition needs.

  • WHIPHAMMER-   A versatile machine that averages approximately 300 SY per hour on flat surfaces of 6" pavement.  It is capable of breaking up to 12" pavement.  (For large flat areas over 900 SY we recommend the Guillotine Breaker.)

Averages per hour are affected by:  # of areas, thickness of pavement, pavement marked and sawcut (if necessary) before Stomper arrives, areas cleared of vehicles or debris.

  • GUILLOTINE BREAKER-  12,000 lb 8' wide guillotine style hammer that can cycle up to 30X per minute.  Requires a flat, 8' wide working surface accessible by a pneumatic tire truck.  Break size is set by technician and can vary from rubbleized up to 24" break pattern or larger if requested by contractor.

This machine is a true work horse and can rubbleize up tp 5,000 SY of 8" pavement in a 12 hour day.  The guillotine can break up to 36" or thicker pavement and easily handles airport runways.  On rare occasions it has tackled solid rock.

A key benefit to rubbleizing versus 18-24" break size is that rebar is delaminated from the concrete which allows recycling of concrete AND the steel.  The rubbleized concrete has much higher trucking yields = reduced trucking costs that reduce the overall expense of your projects.   Many of our contractors reuse the rubble as road base which saves them even more.

  • IMPACT ROLLER-   A not-so-high-tech 26,000 lb semi-square wheel.   Used on 8-10" highway and roadway paving, or large parking lots.  On the right kind of concrete this machine is extremely efficient.
